ChipTone
ABOUT
Hello! ChipTone is a free tool for generating sound effects, mainly for games but they could be used for anything you like. I'm currently working to flesh out the sampler and the sequencer. This tool was originally made in Flash, but, uh, yeah, that didn't work out. So now it's in HTML5 instead! And Windows and Mac downloadable versions too.
I hope you find this tool useful, and if you make anything cool using it, I'd love to see!
LICENCE
All sounds created using ChipTone are FREE to use for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, under the CC0 licence.
CREDITS
ChipTone is being built by me, Tom Vian. You can reach me at tom@sfbgames.com or @SFBTom.
The colours, icons and ChipTone logo were designed by Adam Vian. He can be found at @SFBDim.
ChipTone was partly inspired by Increpare's bfxr, which was built on top of my as3sfxr, which was ported from Tomas Pettersson's sfxr. Phew!
ChipTone was built using Haxe and the OpenFL project.

I hope you consider making a linux downloadable version too!
π
shame its abondoned
was really excited for the sequencer
(edit: added r to sequence)
It may appear that way, but I wouldn't call it abandoned quite yet. Sometimes people can take a few years to update something in an application. Give or take five to six years especially if they're the only developer of the tool. Considering the last update was from 2022, might be a while. Things that might seem like simple updates might actually be harder to work on than what one may think.
Uhh.. I opened it, but nothing appeard. Is this malware??
No, this is not malware according to all scans I've made using my software before and after unzipping files that detects these things. I saw your question right before I was going to download it for the first time which I was thinking about trying it and decided I'd test it out for you. And can you tell me what you mean by nothing appeared when you opened it? Did you unzip the file first before trying to open it? Are you using windows? It opened up quite fine and appears to be working just fine.
Very cool, for someone reason the application doesnt open at all for me. But whatever!
Ah, have you redownloaded and reattempted to run the application? That is very odd that it is not working on your end and it shouldn't be a problem at all. Are you sure all the necessary files and folders are there when you try to use it? And did you modify the folder in any way if at all? Sometimes these things can be very finicky with the slightest modification such as simply changing the name of the folder. Yes, it's weird that they can decide to stop functioning properly over folder name changes or just simply reordering files which can also disrupt it. Sometimes files are simply missing in the first attempt of download which can also break applications so sometimes redownloading it(Sometimes you have to do it three times in a row) is the best option. This is at least with my personal experience with how these things may go.
Whatever, i don't really need this anymore.
I don't think this has been updated in a long time.. feels abandoned.
bro please make a linux version

The project was last updated in 2022. Sadly, it looks like they abandoned it.

Turn on WebGL in your browser settings
Gente como tu se merecen el cielo
Can you add history for this?
thats a better and modern SFXR!
webgl generates audio by few soundfonts, playback, but what is missing:
-playing in loop (checkbox), and optional playing ping-pong (checkbox)
-saving in other formats: mp3 at 48khz avg 128kb/s (using in our games)
This is amazing! Used this for my recent game https://af1fr.itch.io/glowgon.

Thank you for this! We used this for a couple sound effects on our newest game Death Orchestra! Really amazing software!
big sfb fan, and this is a perfect tool, and I recommend using sfxr along with it. Only commenting since my game design class uses this as a resource.
