Do you remember the final boss of Super Mario RPG? Its creepy minimalistic graphic design took me down a rabbit hole of creepy territory, and this game satisfied my childhood curios.
A lovely medium length game full of good game design if you know what to look for. It is more horror themed then it is actually scary. The game does a great job of being completable without ever having to look at a guide online.
This was fun to play as an adult. It also is likely accessible to a younger-than-expected audience with its forgiving difficulty and never over the top scariness.
I played the demo for the first time, these are my thoughts.
Every game starts with a door, the menu. This opens up with nostalgia and aesthetic of old PS2 games. Like playing the original Silent Hill 2 or Resident Evil Zero for the first.
The opening scene was tasteful. The little things, the details, made my experience all the more interesting. I was sinking deeper and deeper into to the story. Becoming so immerse without even knowing it. I spent more time admiring the environments tbh. Less is more, that's how I felt about the dialogue. It added to the mystery and left me with unanswered questions, adding to this game's wonder.
There's no need for a trigger warning because these themes should be enough to warn all who dares to enter, "Crow Country". Oh on the Holy Blessed Crow of Brandon Lee's cheeks, I Doubled Dared my way into this game's demo and I love it.
I was startled, I was scared, I was excited and thrilled all in at the same time. The puzzles felt enchanting with droplets of dread. Even with gun, there was a sense of terror of aiming close to deal enough damage to enemies and not knowing where you may see another grenade. This game towers over you while it juggles on the edge of a cliff with molotovs, bones and knives as you walk under it.
Is it worth it? From what I experienced from the demo, yes. Play the demo first then consider getting the full game. I can't afford it myself now, but one day I look forward to playing it in completion.
I'm so happy GOG and itch are getting some love. I will definitely buy a third copy just because I love this freaking game so much! cannot wait to see what the teams cooks up next!

Top!
That was so greatt. But I played it on PlayStation.
One of my favs!!
Wow, this looks darker than your usual stuff, SFB. I might still try the demo, but I don’t know if I’ll buy the game outright.
Can we expect more titles in the Detective Grimoire series?
They've got a new Grimoire game in the works. It's called The Mermaid Mask. I'm looking forward to it!

Ah, I forgot about that! I’ve seen it advertised, but wrongly assumed that it was out already. Thanks for the refresher!
how do you achieve this look in unity?

You all did such a phenomenal job with Crow Country, thoroughly enjoyed my time with it! Cheers!
